Power Plant Operator – Senior 3rd Shift

The University of Wisconsin Parkside currently has a 3rd Shift Power Plant Operator-Senior position vacancy in the Facilities Management Department.

Salary: Pay Schedule/Pay Range: 03-15. Pay will be based on the rules that apply to compensation upon transfer, reinstatement or voluntary demotion transactions; pay will be $19.106 per hr. A six-month permissive probation period may be required.

Job Duties: This position is in a large and highly complex Heating & Chilling Plant. Under the general supervision of the Power Plant Superintendent, the Power Plant Operator-Senior is solely responsible for the following: total operation and maintenance of the entire plant in a safe and efficient manner, assistance in emergency situations, emergency repairs, and performance of any other duties associated with the operation of a complex heating and chilling plant. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Qualified candidates: are required to have knowledge of emergency heating and chilling plant procedures and reactions; will have the ability to learn and perform essential job functions safely; will have the ability to deal with stressful situations; and will currently possess, or obtain, and maintain ASOPE Third Class Power Plant Operating Engineer License or approved equivalent.
