Position Title: Veterans Services Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-time, exempt, Non-Instructional Academic Staff

Reports To: The Veterans Services Coordinator will report to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs & Enrollment Services.

Pay Range: $50,286 - $58,000


Essential Job Functions

The Veterans Services Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact, advocate, and resource for prospective and current veterans, active duty military personnel, and military dependents seeking educational attainment at UW-Parkside. The Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the Military & Veteran Success Center and serves as the Veterans Benefits Certifying Officer for the institution. The Coordinator guides and supports military servicemembers, veteran students, and dependents by providing resources and programs focusing on the transition to college, academic planning and support, state and federal benefits programs, and personal development and well-being. The Coordinator leads efforts related to policy development and interpretation, faculty/staff trainings, budget management, and compliance monitoring.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience certifying veterans benefits in a higher education setting.
  • Experience using a student information system; preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of military agencies, resources, and processes related to supporting veterans, active duty personnel, and military dependents seeking educational attainment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, compliance driven environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in work produced.
