Published: October 24, 2014
By: R. Headley

Parkside was represented at the annual Geological Society of America conference in Vancouver, British Columbia. Dr. Headley presented on the glacial sediment around campus, which she and her research assistants have been studying since the summer. Their research reveals significant variations in the glacial sediment deposited under the cross country course. You can read the full abstract for more information.

Conferences are a great way to get exposure in your field, meet future colleagues, talk to potential graduate schools, and see what other science is out there. There are many geoscience conferences throughout the year, including the American Geophysical Union and the regional GSA North-Central Section. The North-Central Section meeting will be held in Madison on 19-20 May. Be sure to look for Parkside students and faculty there!
