On Wednesday, assistant Professor Carey Watters met with students interested in the study abroad tour of Italy. The three-week program, which will take place in the summer of 2015, focuses on the study of ancient and Renaissance art and architecture in Florence, Venice, Rome, and Naples. This will be Watters’s second faculty led study abroad program in Italy, where she will also oversee students in their study of observational and en plein air drawing of the Italian landscape. It includes trips to a combination of museums, archeological sites, and cultural activities.

Students in attendance were mostly Studio Art and Graphic Design majors, but it also included those studying History and Anthropology. Their reasons for wanting to study abroad in Italy ranged from a love of Italian culture, food, and scenery to a desire to get out of their comfort zones.

December 1 is the deposit deadline and financial aid is available to qualifying students. Any students who are interested in attending this trip or exploring other Real Amazing study abroad opportunities should contact the study abroad office (GRNQ 210).
