Recommended Technology Requirements for Online Courses

Devices that do not meet the minimum specifications listed below, may have difficulty accessing and/or interacting with UW-Parkside's learning management system, as well as other university services that are offered online.
Note: Some departments/courses may have additional technology requirements.

Network

A high speed internet connection with a download speed of 4 Mbps or faster is strongly recommended. Use of satellite, cellular, or public access internet may result in poor performance.

Operating Systems
  • PC Users: Windows 7 or higher
  • Mac Users: Mavericks 10.9 or later
Hardware
  • RAM: 4 GB (minimum), 8 GB ( preferred)
  • Hard Drive: 250 GB (minimum)
Software Peripherals
  • Webcam
  • Headset with a microphone or earbuds with a microphone
  • Access to a printer and scanner
Windows ( at least two)
Mac ( at least two)

Due to the rate at which browsers and software are updated, it is always best to have an alternate browser available.
