Scholarships for students of the college of social sciences and professional studies:

Dreams Come True Scholarship/Sueños Hechos Realidad - $500 award

The Dreams Come True Scholarship was established by the College of Social Sciences and Professional Studies in 2016.  This scholarship is to be awarded to continuing students with a declared major in the College of Social Sciences and Professional Studies.  Applicants should be in good academic standing.  Preference will be given to Hispanic or Latino/a students, as well as students who demonstrate financial need but are not eligible for federal financial aid.  Recipient will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Sub-committee of the university's Awards and Ceremonies Committee.

Mary Gallo Iaquinta Philosophy Scholarship - $500 award

The Mary N. Gallo Iaquinta Endowed Philosophy Scholarship was established by Leonard P. Iaquinta in honor of Mary Iaquinta.  This scholarship is to be awarded to students with declared philosophy majors or minors, in good academic standing, with preference given to first-generation college students.  Recipient(s) will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Sub-committee of the university's Awards and Ceremonies Committee.  

Redlin-Walasek Geography Scholarship - $1,000-$500 award

The Redlin-Walasek Scholarship was established by Richard and Margaret Walasek in 2012 in honor of their parents: Audrey R. Redlin, Raymon C. Redlin, Ann S. Walasek, and Otto F. Walasek.  This scholarship is to be awarded to entering students intending to pursue either elementary teaching licensure or a geography major or minor.  Any entering students who intend to pursue both are to be given preference.  Recipient(s) will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Sub-committee of the university's Awards and Ceremonies Committee on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement as shown by ACT score, GPA, and/or other measures.
