The HESM Department will unveil its 2018-19 scholarship recipients and will recognize two influential faculty members by renaming the scholarship in their honor. Refreshments will be served.
The former Sport Management Scholarship will now be named the Linda K. Draft Sport Management Major Scholarship in honor of Associate Clinical Professor Emeritus Linda Draft. Professor Draft spent most of her award-winning and hall of fame career at UW-Parkside in the HESM and Athletic Departments. As a coach, teacher and administrator, Linda inspired countless students during her career. More importantly, Professor Draft’s efforts to develop the HESM 370 Event Management course led to the development and funding of the two scholarships that continue to be given annually to sport management and exercise science students.
The former Exercise Science Scholarship will now be named the Penny Lyter Antonneau Exercise Science Major Scholarship. Dr. Lyter Antonneau is an Associate Professor in the HESM Department who has spent over 25 years at UW-Parkside and was a key member involved in the founding of the HESM Department and the exercise science and sport management programs. Penny is also an award-winning teacher who has also inspired countless students to achieve success in the fitness, wellness and exercise science fields over the past 2+ decades.
Alumni and community members wishing to donate to the Linda K. Draft Sport Management Major Scholarship and/or the Penny Lyter Antonneau Exercise Science Major Scholarship may do so at http://donate.uwp.edu/hesmscholarships.
