Research Requests

The  UW-Parkside Archives & Area Research Center staff can provide remote reference for simple requests, such as birth, marriage, death, and citizenship  records. We have a 1-2 week turnaround for requests.

Records Request

To place a records request (birth, marriage, death, naturalization, tax or property record, etc.), please fill in the Records Request Form. Provide as much information as you have. If you have any questions, send us an email at archives@uwp.edu or call 262-595-2411.

Submit a Records Request Form

Records may be delivered via email or US mail. There is a $7.00 fee per request. There is no fee for unsuccessful searches.

Billing

All fees will be billed after materials are located, and a bill will be included with all materials mailed or electronically sent to patrons. Checks may be paid to UW - Parkside Archives & Area Research Center. Please do not send cash.

In-depth Research Requests

If you would like archive staff to perform research on your behalf for a question that requires more extensive investigation across multiple records groups - for example, searching newspapers, directories, tax records and maps to establish the history of a given property or searches in multiple court records over a number of years - please send an email to archives@uwp.edu.

The cost of a research request is $8.00 per half hour, regardless of results. Records found in the course of research and a narrative of results will be provided via U.S. Mail or Email.

In-House Research

You are welcome to perform your own research in the archives during open hours. Archives staff will retrieve requested records for you and assist you with any question you have. You can make copies if documents are not too fragile and you may photograph most records (no flash). There is a fee of $3 which includes records retrieval and up to 20 photocopies. Further photocopies are $0.10 for letter or legal sized b/w copies and $0.25 for 11" x 17" b/w copies or color copies. For birth, marriage, death and naturalization records, a flat fee of $3 charge per record is applied.
