The President's Volunteer Service Award program was created to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. The program continues as an initiative of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
The award is based on hours of service within a 12 month period.
There is a Bronze level award for those who volunteer 100 to 174 hours;
A Silver level award for those who volunteer 175 to 249 hours;
And a Gold level award for those who volunteer over 250 hours.
Note: Campus clubs and organizations are also eligible for the award.
