Things I enjoy: Spending time with my nieces and nephews. I'm an animal lover and have a golden retriever, Winnie, who is 9 and one cat, Sassi, who is 20. Watching women's basketball and college football. Beautiful sunsets and watching the moon rise over Lake Michigan. I strongly believe in giving to others and helping those who may not be able to help themselves.
Advising philosophy: As someone who struggled in both high school and at my first attempt at college, I have the experience and understanding for what it takes to help students be successful. After four years out of college, I decided I couldn't work in a factory for the rest of my life, and found the drive to return to school. It was during this time that I realized that if you have desire and commitment to follow your dreams, you can be successful. Any student can achieve their dreams if they believe in themselves and find the right support networks. I would not have made it to where I am without the support from mentors and my family. In fact, at the age of 49, I received my Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration. There are no limits to your success; reach for your dreams, believe in your abilities, and never give up.
