Race walking, a part of the men's and women's track programs, attracts athletes from across the United States. A number of participants have gone on to compete in the Olympic Games.

The all-purpose Sports & Activity Center features the Frank J. Petretti Fieldhouse, Alfred S. and Bernice De Simone Gymnasium, and Carmelo D. Tenuta Hall. Memberships are available for the general public and, in conjunction with UW-Parkside coaches, a variety of youth sports camps are offered.

Outdoor facilities include seven soccer fields, the Red Oberbruner Field baseball diamond, the Case Softball Complex, and a 400-meter all-weather track. The Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course, considered one of the top natural courses in the U.S., is used for cross country running and skiing as well as hiking.

An 18-hole disc golf course is popular with students, faculty, staff and the community. Neighboring Petrifying Springs Park features a public 18-hole golf course, an outdoor volleyball court, and two softball diamonds.
