UW-Parkside Chancellor Finalists Named

MADISON, Wis.— University of Wisconsin System President Jay Rothman today announced three finalists for the position of chancellor at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside, a student-centered university that serves approximately 4,300 students and offers 51 undergraduate majors, 87 minors and certificates, and 16 graduate degrees across four academic colleges.

A Special Regent Committee selected the finalists from a list of candidates identified by an 11-member Search and Screen Committee led by UW System Regent Kyle Weatherly, chair, and Adrienne Viramontes, Professor and Department Chair, College of Arts and Humanities, vice chair.

The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are:

  • Phyllis King
    • Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Vice Provost for Partnerships and Initiatives
    • University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee
    • Milwaukee, WI
  • Felicia McGinty
    • Director of Engagement and Outreach
    • Higher Education Resource Services (HERS)
    • Denver, CO

In the coming weeks, the candidates will participate in separate campus forums, offering opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community members to interact directly with them. The finalists will also take part in a public conversation.

Rothman and the Special Regent Committee, comprised of Regents Héctor Colón, John Miller, Ashok Rai, Jennifer Staton, and chaired by Regent Weatherly, will interview the finalists. After reviewing campus feedback, the Special Regent Committee will recommend a single successful candidate to the Board of Regents, which must approve the appointment.

The person selected through this process will be UW-Parkside’s 7th chancellor.
