LIVING ON CAMPUS
The transition to college is a big one. College is not just about academic growth but also about your personal growth. The residential experience at Parkside is designed to help you through personal connection, academic support, and opportunities to be involved on campus.
TOP REASONS TO LIVE ON CAMPUS
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
The living / learning environment provides you with quiet study rooms and 24-hour computer labs in every residential community and easy access to the library, day and night. Study groups are easy to form and you can visit faculty during their office hours.
CONVENIENCE
Living on campus alleviates hassles, saves time, and avoids costly commuting expenses. No snowy or ice covered roads to worry about. Hungry? There are multiple dining options. Need to study? The library is right there, as are a variety of quiet areas within the halls. Want to work out? Walk to the SAC or use one of the Fitness Rooms in your residence community.
AFFORDABILITY
Campus housing provides all utilities including cable TV and internet, furniture, fitness rooms, computer labs, quiet study rooms, and an abundance of free activities. All residential communities are air-conditioned. There is no housing deposit. You can save money by not purchasing gas or paying vehicle repair bills!
STAFF AND RESOURCE AVAILABILITY
Students who live on campus have support available 24/7. There is a RA living on every floor, and a full-time Hall Director lives on-campus and maintains office hours. Housing & Residence Life staff members are on-duty and available 24/7 – 365 days a year. You can always receive assistance ... even during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ENGAGEMENT
Living on campus is fun! Campus housing allows students an easy and convenient opportunity to meet other students while participating in fun events, campus activities, student organizations, and socializing. Enjoy the total campus experience and enhance your academic success too!
SAFETY AND SECURITY
The University Police work collaboratively with Housing & Residence Life, providing facility walk-throughs, educational programming, and policy enforcement. In a student satisfaction survey, 98% of the survey participants reported feeling safe in campus housing.
FRIENDSHIPS
It is easier to make friends! When the people in your classes are also the folks you eat with and do laundry with and binge watch TV with, you start to build life-long friendships!
