Physics Associate of Science
ASSOCIATE DEGREE
Physicists examine how nature works. They investigate how radiation affects cancer cells; they develop new laser techniques for studying atoms in both large groups and in individual atom cases; they explore how nuclei of atoms decay into new elements or how bombardment of a nucleus by other particles can create new particles or elements.
Learn to generate new ideas about how elements came into existence in the early universe and how we can detect new species of matter such as dark matter.
Physics is an exciting field that explores and identifies basic principles governing the structure and behavior of matter, the generation and transfer of energy, and the interaction of matter and energy.
With this associate of science degree you will experience various areas of physics, including theoretical and computational physics. An associate degree in Physics provides you with highly marketable skills, OPENING UP OPPORTUNITIES in diverse occupations in science, engineering, and technology.
Be prepared to pursue further education in the field or advance your skills to enter the workforce. You are eligible to earn an Associate of Science (AS) Degree in Physics while completing the first two years of a 2+2 engineering degree program articulated with UW-Milwaukee.
