ALL-A-Bloom Reports Exciting 2025

We have been busy during 2025!

In June we toured the greenhouses, gravel gardens and other plantings on the grounds of the Kenosha Gateway Technical College. We learned that seniors can take courses at very reduced fees. We, also, visited Kathy Barth’s home to tour her gardens.

In July, it was picnic time! We met at Dawn Feldman-Brown’s house for a garden tour and a nice picnic lunch.

In August, we were met at the Kenosha Public Museum by the city horticulturist. We toured several gardens and learned not only how to grow the flowers but also about the gardens’ layouts and color themes. All the city gardens are added together for ordering purposes. Many seasonal employees are needed to keep these gardens looking good. Lunch followed at Anna’s by the Lake.

In September we visited Grow Space Vertical Farms. This is the fresh food revolution. Salad greens growing without chemicals, inside a building, and without dirt or bugs. The customer receives the greens with the roots intact, so they last longer in the refrigerator. We received some free samples and made some purchases. We then went to the Lincoln Park sunken gardens which were in full bloom.

In October, we visited Milagers on Douglas Avenue. Christmas is in full swing at the store. Trees, wreaths, hundreds of ornaments and more. If you can not find it here, you don’t need it. We had a great tour guide who showed us the 20,000 poinsettia plants they are currently growing. We also saw the area where they grow their micro greens. They have many special events happening so get on their email list by visiting their website. Afterward we visited the O&H eatery across the street for coffee and a sweet.
