Commencement Address
Rae Livingston, Founder and Principal, Vision Loading

Rae Livingston’s story begins in Racine — not in a boardroom, not on a global stage, but right here, where possibility first whispered her name. She walked the same hallways you walk, sat in the same classrooms, and dreamed the same big dreams many of you carry today.
From Jefferson Lighthouse to McKinley to J.I. Case, Rae learned early how to lead, how to listen, and how to rise. In 2016, her alma mater named her one of its first Distinguished Alumni — a reminder that greatness can grow from familiar soil. Rae’s first taste of professional development came long before corporate titles or global assignments — it came from helping with the family business run by her father. That experience planted the earliest seeds of responsibility, discipline, and possibility. And then, participating in UW-Parkside’s CHAMP (Creating High Aspirations and Motivations Program) — now OMSA — widened her world even further. SC Johnson’s TOPS (Training Opportunities for Proven Stars) program opened the door. And then came the leap: a young woman from Racine boarding a plane to the United Kingdom to help lead the historic Y2K and Euro conversions. A risk. A stretch. A moment that changed everything.
That leap became a pattern.
Across seven cities and two continents, Rae shaped transformation at Rockwell Automation, Medtronic, JPMorgan Chase, SC Johnson, and AbbVie — guiding leaders through mergers, crises, cultural shifts, and global change.
Diversity Woman Media named her one of the Elite 100 Black Women changing the face of Corporate America — women leading complex transformations, managing global and remote teams, and sustaining profitable bottom lines.
And now, Rae is reinventing once again — as the Founder and Principal of Vision Loading, a leadership advisory platform for leaders navigating moments that matter. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: when leaders gain clarity within, everything around them begins to shift.
She creates the space leaders rarely get — but deeply need — to slow down, think clearly, trust themselves, and move forward with conviction.
A proud HBCU alum, Rae holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Florida A&M University and she is a life member of the FAMU Alumni Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.
Rae’s journey — from Racine to the world and back home again — carries a message for every graduate: You are whole. You are worthy. You are proven. You are enough.
