Graphic Design by Daniel Martin
The Foundation Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition featuring the work of Daniel Martin, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at UW-Parkside. The exhibition will run from October 20 to December 3, 2026, presenting five years of graphic design produced since Martin joined the Department of Art and Design faculty.
The exhibition brings together experimental data visualizations and websites, typography, branding, editorial design, and other forms of graphic design. Martin describes the goal of the show as presenting the variety of projects he has undertaken as a multidisciplinary designer working in an academic context, with work ranging from research-driven experiments to commissions for clients both local and international.
Artist Talk & Reception
Martin will give an artist talk on Wednesday, November 4 at 2 PM in Bedford Hall at the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts & Humanities (the RITA). A reception will follow from 3 to 5 PM in the Foundation Gallery.
About Daniel Martin
Daniel Martin is a graphic designer and Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he teaches web design, typography, and design foundations. His research interests include graphic design, typography, interactive design, editorial design, and digital humanities. He received his MFA in Design from the University of Minnesota in 2020.
Before entering academia, Martin spent roughly ten years at the University of Chicago Press, typesetting and producing scholarly journals in disciplines including astrophysics, history, law, religion, and semiotics. That career in publishing continues to inform his work in art and design. He has exhibited his work nationally, and his design clients have included the International Society for Music Education, the Society for Industrial Archeology, the Kenosha Coalition for Dismantling Racism, and the United States Soccer Federation.
