I received my B.A. from Carthage College in 1996, and my Ph.D. from Marquette University in 2009. I began teaching in 2002 and have been fortunate to be a part of the UW-Parkside community since 2006.
Teaching Interests
My primary area of interest and research is social history in early modern Great Britain. I have taught on a number of related subjects, including our Western Civilization survey classes, the history of Britain, Napoleonic Europe, and the World Wars.
Research Interests
In December 2013, Lexington Books released my book, "The Life of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton: Extraordinary Perseverance," a biography of one of Great Britain's most active social reformers. I have also written encyclopedia articles for Gale/Cengage, and am currently beginning research on a project involving the Afro-British experience in Elizabethan/Stuart Britain.
