Michelle van Solt is a consumer psychology researcher and an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside. Her research primarily focuses on transformative consumer research, with a particular emphasis on consumer well-being and mindfulness in everyday consumption contexts. In addition, she examines social media phenomena, including the fear of missing out (FOMO) and the rise of AI influencers, to better understand their impact on consumer behavior and well-being. Her research has been published in the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Marketing Letters, Journal of Consumer Marketing, and Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. Michelle obtained her M.I.B. and Ph.D. from Florida International University and her B.A.S. in Marketing from Florida State University.
