HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE
UW-Parkside requires that all international students purchase health insurance while enrolled in the university. See

Spouses and children must also be covered by insurance for an additional fee. You will be automatically enrolled in the health insurance plan and charged for this on your student account.
TUBERCULOSIS (TB) TESTING
Students from countries in which tuberculosis is endemic must be tested at the Student Health & Counseling Center upon arrival.
All international students must attend orientation to be provided important information of campus resources, health insurance, immigration regulations, internships, working, banking, health and safety, etc. Course schedules are also confirmed during orientation.
All incoming international students will take a math and English placement test, unless you have satisfactory transfer credit. If you are unsure if your credit is applicable, register for the placement test. The placement test is available for an additional fee via computer or you are able to take your placement test when you arrive on campus for orientation
All international students must enroll full-time. This means as an undergraduate (bachelor’s degree) you will be required to enroll for 12 credit hours per semester. If you have applied for graduate work or a master’s degree, you are required to enroll in a combination of courses (typically 3 courses or a combination equal to 9 credit hours) per semester.
Students must consult with their assigned academic advisor before registering for classes. Contact the International Student Services/Study Abroad Office for the name/contact of your advisor to ensure pre-registration before your arrival on campus. Students will be pre-registered for their classes and will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor and make any schedule changes during orientation.
