The Art Party: High School Art Exhibition and Awards Ceremony

KENOSHA, WI — Since 2016, UW-Parkside has celebrated the creativity of Southeast Wisconsin high school art students through the annual Art Party event. This year, the tradition continues with an exciting High School Art Exhibition and Awards Ceremony on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Emile H. Mathis Gallery in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities.

 

The Art Party invites high school art students to exhibit their best work in a professional gallery setting, offering them an invaluable opportunity to gain recognition and inspire their peers. This year's exhibition will feature over 80 artworks from 15 regional high schools, showcasing the extraordinary talent of students across Southeastern Wisconsin. The majority of participating schools are based in Racine and Kenosha, though the exhibition spans the region, with schools as far away as Nicolet High School in Glendale and Arrowhead High School in Hartland. 

 

What to Expect:

 

  • Doors Open: 3:00 PM
  • Arrival & Welcome: 3:30-4:00 PM
  • Open House Activities: 4:00-5:20 PM

o   Letterpress Workshop in the 2D Studio

o   Risograph Printing in the Print Studio

o   Button Making Station

o   Tours of the Digital Fabrication Studio and Painting Studio

  • Exhibition Awards & Party: 5:30-6:30 PM

 

This year's exhibition will be juried by UW-Parkside art professors, who will present awards for painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and best in show.
