UW-Parkside Campus Community:

Earlier today, we shared news that former Wisconsin Governor Tommy G. Thompson was selected as interim UW System President to replace retiring UW System President Ray Cross.

I appreciate the work of the UW Board of Regents in the selection of former Governor Thompson. I look forward to working with the former governor, as together we advance the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. It will be a pleasure to welcome former Governor Thompson back to campus in the very near future. As governor, he was here in 2000 for the dedication of the renovated and expanded Sports & Activity Center.

On behalf of our entire learning community, I share sincere appreciation for the commitment and dedication of President Cross in support of our students, our faculty and staff, and our alumni. With guidance from President Cross, UW-Parkside was able to add and revise more than 50 academic offerings in the past five years, including numerous master’s degree programs. President Cross also helped our university maintain up-to-date learning spaces such as the SC Johnson Integrated Science Lab and the Wyllie Hall renovation and remodeling project, currently under way.

Regards,

Debbie
