Workforce Reduction Program - Voluntary Separation Incentive Plan and Layoffs Timeline
Dear Campus Community,
As we continue to prepare for further budget reductions, I want to provide you with an update. As mentioned during last weeks Town Hall meeting, to help balance the budget for the next fiscal year, we are implementing a workforce reduction process. Theprocess will include a Voluntary Separation Incentive Plan and layoffs. A timeline document can be found here.
There have been questions about the number of layoffs and VSIPs necessary to help us close the budget deficit. We have estimated that we need to reduce staffing by approximately 50 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions. This would include a combination of voluntary separations, layoffs, and attrition.
Next week, on November 15, 2023, Huron Consultants will be on campus facilitating a budget planning workshop to help us continue to examine ways to manage our budget deficit. The workshop is designed to evaluate how we are spending money, as well as identify operational efficiencies.
I would like to take this time to thank you for all that you do for our students. The workforce reduction process and the resultant decisions will not be easy, and I recognize your concerns and anxieties as we move through the steps ahead. Please know that our Employee Assistance Program, Kepro is available to assist you during these difficult times. They can be reached by phone at 833-539-7285 or for online service at Kepro, password SOWI. Thank you,
