Dr. Gerald (Jerry) Michael Greenfield joined UW-Parkside in 1974 and dedicated nearly four decades to the university as a professor of history, chair of the history department, director of international studies, and ultimately, as vice provost. His expertise in United States and Latin American history, coupled with his fluency in Portuguese and Spanish, informed his impactful teaching and research. Among his many achievements, Dr. Greenfield established the Model Organization of American States program, fostering diplomatic skills and cross-cultural understanding among students. His excellence in teaching was recognized with the Stella Gray Teaching Excellence Award. A prolific scholar, Dr. Greenfield authored numerous books and articles and presented his research globally.
