Dr. Li is an assistant professor of accounting in the Business Department where she has taught Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II, and Advanced Cost Accounting. She
has a strong interest in integrating data analytics into the accounting courses that she teaches. She wants students to develop an analytics mindset from her classes and be prepared for their future careers.
Dr. Li’s research is rooted in financial reporting and corporate taxation. Her research examines financial reporting issues related to credit ratings as well as issues concerning the impacts of social factors on financial reporting and tax planning. Dr. Li is actively involved in the profession. She is a member of the American Accounting Association and has served as a referee as well as a discussant for journals and conferences.
Dr. Li previously taught at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she earned her Ph.D. in accounting and at Graceland University prior to joining UW-Parkside. She also practiced taxation and financial accounting in Hawaii.
