Jana Truesdell
Though originally from southeast Wisconsin, Janamarie received her first MSc in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Central Lancashire (2010), her second MSc in Forensic Archaeology from University College London (2011), and her doctorate from Oxford University (2018). She has also been a nationally certified medico-legal death investigator with the American Board of Medico-Legal Death Investigators (ABMDI) since 2012. Now back in the States, Janamarie works as a death investigator with both Kenosha and Racine counties and is currently the consulting anthropologist for the counties of Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, and Waukesha. As a death investigator, Janamarie’s interests include forensic history, scene investigation from the perspective of the body, and the responsible use of science as it applies to the evaluation of evidence. As a forensic anthropologist, Janamarie’s interests include age estimation in post-fusion adults and partnership with living individuals by means of medical imaging for biological profiling validation and research.
