The Old Lion Perish for Lack of Prey Theodore Roosevelt and the First World War
12 pm-1 pm
Bedford Hall
Join us for this Constitution Day event.
A fervent advocate for U.S. intervention in World War I, former president Theodore Roosevelt saw his children enlist after he was denied the chance to fight himself. When the war brought tragedy to his family, Roosevelt was forced to reckon with the devastating personal cost of the conflict he had championed.
Presenter: Calvin Watts
Calvin Watts is the academic advisor for social science majors at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. As an amateur historian, he studies how Theodore Roosevelt’s family relationships reveal the man behind his public personas.
