Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with Parkside Asian Organization (PAO) and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs(OMSA)! Throughout April, we will be honoring “Unsung Heroes” in the Asian community via OMSA’s social media.
Sharing the first person in our series to recognize Unsung Heroes in the Asian community for Asian Heritage Month!
Dalip Singh Saund was an Indian American who made history in 1956 when he became the first Asian to be elected to U.S. Congress. He worked to change the anti-immigrant perceptions in the United States and he opened the doors for many Asian Americans today to enter U.S. politics. #unsungheroes #ahmuwp #asianheritagemonth
