The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the position of Accountant.
This multi-functional role is responsible for ensuring accurate recording and reporting of various areas within Business Services and the Budget Office. Responsibilities include non-student accounts receivable management, maintenance of fiscal records, creation of financial reports, completion of various campus reconciliations, and creates and processes student, budget journal entries and uploads. This role is responsible for general accounting duties, monitoring program revenue budgets, budget information requests and compilation into the budget software. This position reports to the Controller.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities
The successful candidate oversees the reconciliation and reporting on the non-student account receivable function, reconciles and reports discrepancies and assists in monthly and year-end financial reporting. This position, provides end-user training on the accounts receivable function and it’s reporting requirements, and assists in implementing the ERP system. This role creates reconciliations and processes, audits and monitors financial activity for Business Services. This position assists in monitoring budget information and limited term employee requests; audits student authorizations; processes budget entries and maintains budget schedules and assists in overall budget support.
Essential Knowledge And Abilities
- Strong financial, analytical, and critical/problem solving/thinking skills
- Effective organizational and management skills with high level of attention to detail and ability to coordinate and prioritize work and activities.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects, and still meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Training And/or Certifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or closely related field
- Experience with PeopleSoft ERP or other related ERP system
- Experience with Accounts Receivable

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
