Position Title: Administrative Assistant I
Employment Type: Full time – University Staff – Hourly
Reports To: The Administrative Assistant I will report to the College of Natural and Health Sciences Dean’s Assistant.
This position will work closely with and provide administrative support to Department Chairs/Program Directors and faculty/staff in the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) to accomplish their duties and responsibilities. This position tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and sees to completion of ongoing projects in such a way as to assist CNHS Chairs/Directors to organize and complete these projects. The position will establish and maintain effective communication with CNHS Chairs/Directors, faculty, staff, students and external constituents. This position will maintain sound administrative procedures to ensure consistency, fairness and compliance in operations for CNHS departments. This position must show confidentiality regarding all written or oral interactions and information. This position is expected to acquire knowledge and experience with UW-Parkside policies and procedures in order to effectively serve CNHS. The position requires general supervision. This position reports to the Dean and will be closely supervised by the Dean’s Assistant.
Essential Job Functions
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
- Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
- Tracks, stocks, orders, and inventories office supplies to ensure adequate materials are available for workplace operation
- Serves as first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma
- At least two years experience providing administrative support
