Position Title: Assistant Professor (Politics, Philosophy & Law)
Employment Type: Full time, Faculty, Salaried
Reports to: The Assistant Professor of Politics, Philosophy & Law will report to Chair of the Politics, Philosophy & Law department.
We seek a candidate who can teach the standard courses in American Politics and courses in Comparative and/or International Relations. Candidates will have a 4/4 course load, including one or two sections of American Politics every semester, some courses in American Institutions, Methods, and Comparative or International Relations.
Essential Job Functions
- Teaching American Politics Courses for the Political Science program in the Department of Politics, Philosophy & Law (24 credits annually - 4/4 standard fall/spring teaching load).
- Establishing and maintaining a research program in Political Science.
- Contributing service to UW-Parkside, the College of Social Sciences and Professional Studies, the Department of Politics, Philosophy & Law, as well as the profession and community.
Qualifications
- PhD in Political Science or related field. ABD will also be considered; however, contract renewal will be contingent on completing degree within one-year of hire.
- Demonstrated ability to teach American Politics
- Demonstrated ability to teach Comparative or International Relations
Salary and Benefits
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
