Position Title: Compliance Specialist I (Campus Compliance Specialist)
Employment Type: Full-time, University Staff, Hourly
Reports To: The Campus Compliance Specialist will report to the Assistant Director of Title IX, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Full Time Pay Range: $21.63 -23.07/hr.
Essential Job Functions
This position provides administrative support for compliance related correspondence and assists in policy interpretation for a designated group or affiliate population in support of maintaining the regulatory compliance of the program.
- Connects target populations with compliance resources to assist with interpreting laws, regulations, and best practices; and communicates with customers to provide information or answer questions
- Tracks and maintains records of compliance through various mediums
- Provides logistical office support to complete operational tasks
Technical Support
- Manage campus-wide health form & waiver system (CampDoc)
- All necessary waivers and health forms for any campus program serving minors flow through the compliance manager, who will approve them prior to setup
- Compliance specialist will initiate setup of program cohorts with CampDoc and ensure that appropriate forms and waivers are added
- Compliance specialist will be point of contact for university staff should they have any issues in the process and facilitate communications with CampDoc
- Compliance specialist will make sure that the secure electronic system is being appropriately utilized
Manage Youth Activity Registration System (YARS)
- Ensure all campus entities are aware of and understand how to use YARS, providing training as necessary
- Ensure programs are being entered into YARS appropriately and in a timely manner
- Regularly audit programs to ensure compliance
Compliance Responsibilities
- Support Title IX Coordinator and Compliance Liaison in the performance of random audits of third-party and Campus-owned youth programs and activities
- Work closely with HR and Risk Management to ensure background checks, incident reporting, and other critical procedures and processes adhere to compliance standards
- Work closely with department and college partners to answer policy and procedure related questions.
- Track and monitor training completion.
Knowledge Skills, and Ability
- Experience in dealing with confidential information and sound application of judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to relate complex information in an understandable fashion to a variety of people with various levels of knowledge on the topic.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people at all levels in the university and to have effective conflict resolution skills with a focus on consistency and equity.
- Ability to provide clear technical guidance and instruction to non-technical personnel.
- Ability to compose and edit written material.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community.
- Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, and process/project management tools. Ability to quickly learn desktop applications and use them effectively. Willingness to share and teach the expertise to others.
- Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Digital literacy and software proficiency
Although not required, the ideal candidate for this position will possess familiarity with CampDoc and Youth Activity Registration System. Also, the ideal candidate will have some familiarity with Title IX in a higher education environment.
