Position Title: Graduate Assistant (Facilities and Operations)
Employment Type: Part-time, Academic Staff, Exempt
Reports To: The Facilities and Operations Graduate Assistant will report to the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Capital Projects.
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the position of Facilities and Operations Graduate Assistant. To be eligible, prospective candidates must be accepted into one of the Master’s Degree programs at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Facilities and Operations Graduate Assistant will report directly to the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Capital Projects.
Essential Job Functions
Key Job Responsibilities
The facilities and operations graduate assistant will report to the Associate AD for Facilities & Capital Projects and the Facilities & Recreation Coordinator. This position assists in all aspects of facilities/grounds/equipment management and maintenance of all Ranger Athletic facilities. This position will also assist with operations associated with Parkside Athletic events and student recreation programming.
- Assist the Facilities & Recreation Coordinator with day-to-day equipment room operations and purchasing.
- Assist the Associate AD of Facilities & Capital Projects with maintenance and upkeep of athletic facilities.
- Coordinate laundry cleaning, distribution, and chemical inventory for all 13 NCAA Division II Varsity teams.
- Facility set up and takedown for NCAA Varsity home contests as well as external rentals.
- Serve as the facility supervisor for assigned NCAA Varsity home contests and external rentals.
- Assist with scheduling of facilities for varsity sports competitions and practices, internal and external rentals, intramurals, open recreation, and University sanctioned events.
- Help schedule and supervise student-worker schedules for athletic facilities, work alongside graduate assistant for Wellness/Strength center.
- Become familiar with Event Management System (EMS), & Microsoft Outlook Calendar
- Provide customer service to Athletic Administration, Coaches, Student- Athletes, community members that possess SAC membership and external rentals tenants.
- Other duties not listed above assigned by Associate AD of Facilities & Capital Projects or Facilities & Recreation Coordinator
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal skills
- The ability to exhibit professionalism and maintain confidentiality
- Candidate must possess strong customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working in facilities/grounds/equipment management at an NCAA institution and/or professional sport organization is preferred.
