UW-Parkside is in the midst of its first ever comprehensive fundraising campaign. Launched in 2019, the campaign seeks to raise $25 million in support of key campaign priorities: increase scholarship support; expand hands-on learning opportunities; attract and retain life-changing faculty and staff; and create dynamic learning environments. We are well on our way to this goal with more than $10 million raised to date, and seek a Gift Officer to support continued fundraising success as we move toward the public phase of the campaign.

Full Time Pay Range: Starting at $60,000 annualized, commensurate with experience
The Gift Officer will play a critical role in the success of UW-Parkside’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign and our achievement of strategic growth as a member of UW-Parkside’s fundraising team. The Gift Officer will work with a portfolio of individuals to develop relationships that match donor interests to the needs of the university. This position identifies and cultivates relationships with donor prospects, solicits gifts, and works collaboratively with other staff to meet predefined gift contribution goals.
The Gift Officer partners with units across campus, works closely with university leadership, and is a key member of the University Advancement team. University Advancement leads UW-Parkside’s development, alumni relations, communications, and marketing efforts.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors/potential donors capable of making philanthropic gifts of $25,000 or more. Contact and meet with donors to identify areas of funding interest, request gifts, and continue to strengthen their relationship with the university.
- Develop and implement donor cultivation and solicitation strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and fundraising goals.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Advancement team to develop fundraising and stewardship communications (proposals, reports, etc.) for donors within their portfolio.
- Track and report on donor engagement activities through frequent Raiser’s Edge database updates, regular meetings with Advancement and university leadership, and other updates as requested.
- Serve as a liaison to donors and prospective donors by providing information and representing the university at donor and alumni gatherings.
- Participate in Advancement and university meetings, events, and training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of experience in areas such as fundraising, alumni relations, communications, public relations, sales, or a related field
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in higher education fundraising, demonstrated success in making direct solicitations, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Gift Officer will be expected to travel about 25% of the time, occasionally with overnight stays. They participate in university events for donor engagement, both during working hours and occasionally on evenings and weekends.
