Position Title: Major Gift Officer

Employment Type: Full-time, Non-Instructional Academic Staff, Exempt

Reports To: The Major Gift Officer will report to the Director of Development.

Pay Range: $58,000-65,000


Essential Job Functions

Major gift officers will play a critical role in the success of UW-Parkside’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign and our achievement of strategic growth by developing relationships that match donor interests to the needs of the university. This position identifies and cultivates relationships with donor prospects, develops and implements fundraising plans, and works collaboratively with other Advancement staff to meet predefined gift contribution goals.

The Major Gift Officer collaborates with units across campus, and is a key member of the University Advancement team. University Advancement leads UW-Parkside’s development (fundraising), alumni relations, and strategic communications efforts.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains donor relationships and identifies solicitation opportunities specifically designed for the generation of gifts to reach program funding goals
  • Develops and delivers targeted large gift fundraising and communication programs and materials specific to large gift contributions in alignment with strategic initiatives
  • Develops and updates prospect portfolios, evaluates existing strategy and recommends improvements to leadership
  • Serves as a liaison to donors and prospective donors, provides information and represents the interests of the institution
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in fundraising, alumni relations, communications/marketing, sales, or a related field
Salary and Benefits

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
