Essential Job Functions
Tenure track position in computer science: teach multiple computer science courses, conduct research and provide service to multiple entities with the university, community and profession. Courses could include data Analytics, Big Data, Data Science, Programming Languages, Algorithms, Data Structures. Tenure track faculty may teach day, evening, undergraduate, graduate and online classes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate computer science courses and graduate computer and information system courses as assigned by the department
- Participate in teaching courses for the Data Science Certificate, and/or System Administration Certificate, and general programming courses
- Prepare classes, syllabi, and coursework; develop new classes; provide instruction during class time; help students outside of class; provide feedback to students; provide student grades
- Student mentoring; serving on department, college, and university committees; assisting with department and university events; contributions to community projects
- Perform scholarly work; publish in conference and journals; write grant applications; perform consulting type activities
- Service includes student mentoring, serving on departmental and university committees, assisting in departmental and university events. Contribute to community projects and events.
- Essential Knowledge And Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to teach classes in computer science (onsite, online, and hybrid)
- Knowledge and ability to conduct research and scholarly activities
- Ability to effectively communicate with students and staff, orally and in writing
- The position is not responsible for money or university funds of accounts which hold financial information
- Ergonomic Requirements:Ability to work in office, computer science lab, and classroom. Ability to use computers, mobile devices, copiers, printers, document cameras, and other equipment as needed for teaching.

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Training And/or Certifications
Required
- PhD degree in Computer Science, software engineering, Data Science or similar area.
- Active scholarship and strong teaching record for Associate or Full Professor
- Teaching or work experience or publications related to computer science within the last five years.
Salary and Benefits
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
