Position Title: Vehicle Equipment Technician II
Employment Type: Full time – 40 hours/week, University Staff, Non-Exempt
Reports To: The Vehicle Equipment Technician II will report to the Facilities Manager.
Pay Range: Starting at $39,520
This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair and some operation of automotive, grounds and other specialized equipment. The person filling this position will perform engine tune-ups, replace and adjust engine parts, and make repairs associated with a preventative maintenance program. Work is performed under the guidance of the supervisor.
Essential Job Functions
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs complex parts and systems for small, automotive, and large-engine vehicles and equipment under general supervision to ensure optimal and safe operation
- Identifies and troubleshoots complex vehicle and small-engine issues and collaborates with work unit staff to resolve issues
- Documents completed maintenance and repairs according to established policies and procedures
- Serves as a point of contact for individuals providing information and updates about vehicle and small-engine maintenance and repairs
Qualifications
- Education – High School diploma is required
- Successful candidates will have experience and skills with small engines, lawn & garden equipment, snow removal equipment, Bobcat equipment, and emergency generators.
This position is part of the Facilities Management Department which is responsible for the maintenance of campus buildings, grounds and equipment.
