Ranger Bear Celebrates Earth Day
The weather was perfect, Saturday, April 23, as 1,500 members of the community celebrated Earth Day at Gateway Technical College. One of the many UW-Parkside representatives in attendance was none other than Parkside mascot Ranger Bear.
"From my experience, Saturday was amazing," Ranger Bear wrote in response to email questions. "It was a fun, family orientated scene. A perfect day not a cloud in the sky, which presented a wonderful day to get outside and learn about Mother Earth.
"Gateway had a lot of activities throughout the campus inside and outside. Kids were able to design pet rocks and sample some sweet frozen homemade honey. There were a lot of beneficial learning opportunities as well, they had wildlife experts or organizations there to present what they've learned in the field of ecology then to pass on to the next generations.
