FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SOMERS – The 2019 Relay for Life of Kenosha event is Friday, Aug. 2, beginning at 4 p.m. and continuing until Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7 a.m. UW-Parkside is proud to serve as the host site for the 24th Annual Kenosha Relay For Life, which remains one of the largest fundraising events for the American Cancer Society in the state of Wisconsin. In 2018 over 60 teams, 700 participants and 200 cancer survivors raised nearly $185,000 for the mission of the American Cancer Society through their support of Relay For Life.

Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration in which individuals/teams camp out and take turns walking the track and raising funds to fight cancer. There will be numerous activities and entertainment options for all ages during the 15-hour event. In addition, UW-Parkside students and staff will be participating in the event, including several fraternity and sorority fundraising teams and the Parkside Employee Alumni Group fundraising team.

The American Cancer Society and UW-Parkside invite you to come and help Light Up Kenosha on Aug. 2 and 3. Become a Beacon of Hope in the fight against cancer. This is a real family event, and everyone is welcome!
