Parkside, GTC and RUSD partner to Improve HS Success
Recently, the Racine Unified School district was accepted into the Ford Next Generation Learning Network. The Ford Next Generation Learning (NGL) model mobilizes educators, employers and community leaders to create a new generation of young people who will graduate from high school both college- and career- ready. The NGL framework focuses on three stands – transforming teaching and learning, redesigning high schools and sustaining change through business and civic engagement.
Ford NGL representatives will facilitate the 3 day summit designed to begin the process of transforming teaching and learning and creating academies in business, IT, health science and engineering in RUSD high schools. Faculty participating in the summit will develop an action plan for the upcoming year.
As a regional university, Parkside is excited to be an active partner in this process with the Racine Unified School District. This project will positively impact all of the educational institutions involved in the project.Additional Transforming Teaching and Learning Visioning workshops will be held as additional academies are identified as a part of development of RUSD's strategic plan.
