Wisconsin Legislature Honors Kenosha Chamber of Commerce
This year, 2016, marks 100 years from the first meeting of businesses that formed the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce. A team from the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors traveled to the State Assembly in Madison Feb. 9 where the State of Wisconsin recognized the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce for 100 years of excellent service and dedication to the greater Kenosha area. During this100th Anniversary year the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce will highlight and honor long-term Chamber Member businesses that have weathered many years in Kenosha; supporting our industry and generations of working families. This effort will culminate in a 100th Anniversary Celebration Gala, presented by the Kenosha News, Oct. 1, at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Student Center Ballroom.
The Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking digital images of the Kenosha County area and all aspects of commerce and business within the Kenosha County area to highlight the history of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce through Chamber Members' perspectives. The organizations that already preserve and honor our deep history like the Kenosha Public Museums, Kenosha County Historical Society, and Western Kenosha County Historical Society are an amazing resource.
Because the majority of the private photographs from the 1960s to the present have not yet been donated to them, Chamber Members, their employees and their descendants are asked to share their photos and memories.
DMI Digital Media Imaging has been engaged to produce a video for the 100th Anniversary Gala and they have the equipment and expertise to do multi-media transference, video conversion and high-quality scans of photographs. Chamber Members, their employees and their descendants are encouraged to contact the team at DMI Digital Media 262-657-6330 to arrange a scan of your photographs. Deadline for photos is July 29.
Highlighting the 100 year history of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce through the history of Chamber Members is quite an undertaking and is made possible by our Presenting Sponsor, the Kenosha News, and the following members: Bane Nelson, Inc., LaMacchia Travel Agency, Platinum Systems, Inc., Southport Bank, Camosy Construction, DMI Digital Media Imaging and United Hospital System, Inc.
Chamber Members interested in sponsoring these efforts should contact Lou Molitor at lou@kenoshaareachamber.com or 262-654-1234, ext-5.
