Question: When was Kenosha's only planetarium built?
Answer: It was built about 1961 as an addition to the University of Wisconsin-Kenosha building that was erected in 1960 at Washington Road and 39th Avenue.
The planetarium structure carried a price tag of $60,000."It was an add-on to the contract because there was additional money available to build the planetarium," recalled John Valeske, who was assistant to UW-Kenosha Center Dean Bernard Tallent back then.
