UWP Soccer faces off against Truman State

UW-Parkside Men’s (7-6, 4-6 GLVC) returned to Wood Road Field at 1:15pm Friday after splitting a pair of games last weekend in Saint Louis, this time to face off against the Truman State Bulldogs.

Antonio Gonzalez leads the Rangers in assists (six) and points (18) and is second on the squad in scoring (six). Nemanja Medic has a team-best seven goals while Abraham Kanneh and Jorge Ontiveros have six and four goals, respectively.

UW-Parkside’s Women’s (10-0-2, 8-0-2 GLVC) taking on Truman State at 3:30, has posted three straight shutouts and sits atop the league standings having outscored opponents by a 30-2 margin this season.

The Rangers have been nearly invincible at home in recent years, posting a 37-1-6- record over the last 44 games at Wood Road Field. The lone loss in that stretch was a 3-2 defeat to Rockhurst on Oct. 28, 2012 in the GLVC Tournament.

Karley Mecko leads the team in scoring with seven goals while Niekie Pellens is the leading distributer with nine assists in 2014. Mallory Geurts has collected 25 saves with a goals against average of 0.16.
