Rangers Host GVSU Friday

The third-ranked and top-seeded University of Wisconsin-Parkside punched through to the Sweet 16 for the second time in three years on Sunday afternoon, vanquishing fifth-seeded Saginaw Valley State University 2-0 in an NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship second round match at snowy Wood Road Field.

The Rangers (18-0-3) return to the round of 16 for the fourth time in program history, also advancing to the Midwest Region Championship in 2008, 2010 and 2012. UW-Parkside will host second-seeded and 11th-ranked Grand Valley State University on Friday, Nov. 21 at Wood Road Field after the Lakers rolled Bellarmine University 2-0 on Sunday. 


The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament is returning to Wood Road Field for the first time since 2010, with fourth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside landing the top seed in the Midwest Region as the NCAA selection committee unveiled the 48-team bracket on Monday evening.
