Published: April 30, 2014

Research by UW-Parkside Associate Professor of Biological Sciences Dr. Daphne Pham and colleagues in the International Glossina Genome Initiative was published in the prestigious international journal "Science."

The paper was considered so important that it was featured on the cover of the journal. The research is part of the International Glossina Genome Initiative focusing on sequencing the DNA of the Tsetse fly to help better combat its transmission of the parasite that causes sleeping sickness. This work could have long-lasting impact on understanding the biology of the Tsetse fly and how we can use this information to help prevent it spreading the disease.
