The Kenosha News and Journal Times are accepting nominations to honor nurses that have gone above and beyond to make a significant impact on the lives of others in a special event celebrating nurses during National Nurses Week this May.

Nursing is a demanding profession with more skills and challenges than ever before. In celebration of National Nurses Week (May 6 – May 12), The Kenosha News and Racine Journal Times will publish a full color section that will feature the stories of select nurses in each area. This content will also be featured online on KenoshaNews.com and Journaltimes.com, respectively. Each publication will feature 10 nurses.

The feature will be published Sunday, May 12 both in print and online. Anyone can nominate a nurse who has made a difference in their life or the life of a loved one during 2018. In order to nominate a nurse, simply go online to either KenoshaNews.Com/Nurse or JournalTimes.com/Nurses. Once you get to that page, you can click “Nominate” on the candidate you would like or you can type in the nurse’s name and enter in the relevant information. The nomination deadline is March 17.

After collecting the nominations, an independent panel of community judges will choose 9 extraordinary nursing professionals to represent thousands of their colleagues at the first annual Nursing Awards event. There will be one reader’s choice award. The top 10 nurses are awarded a prize and recognized as top caregivers in our community.

This campaign is presented by Froedtert South, with support by Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin, Kenosha Medical Center campus, St. Catherine Medical Center Campus, Gateway Technical College, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Ridgewood, Skin R.N. Medical Spa, and Carthage College.
