Reedsburg Valedictorian Chooses UW-Parkside

Published: June 6, 2019

Molly McBride, Reedsburg Area High Schools valedictorian for the class of 2019, will continue her education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside beginning this fall. McBride said she first found out about UW-Parkside from Dr. Tom Wood, a urologist who works at the hospital in Reedsburg, Wis., and is a 1977 graduate of UW-Parkside. Dr. Wood also serves on the advisory board for the College of Natural and Health Sciences at UW-Parkside.

“Then I went on UW-Parkside's website and was instantly intrigued by the statistics of the programs, the university's unique location, and the student-faculty ratio,” McBride said. “I had a campus tour and met with Dr. Bryan Lewis. I was extremely impressed by the strength of the pre-med program and by Dr. Lewis himself. He was very welcoming and seems willing to help students looking to attend medical school as long as they are willing to put in the work.”
