Richard Karwatka

Academic Staff Distinguished Service Award

As Chair of the UW Mathematics Placement Test Development Committee, Richard works closely with mathematics and testing professionals from across UW System to address areas of common interest in curriculum and policy.

A Parkside grad, Richard has served on various committees including the Academic Staff Committee, the Stella C. Gray Teaching Excellence Award Committee, and the Admissions Secondary Review Committee.

He has also contributed to the Time and Talent Auction, the Racine Unified School District Mathematics Summit, and the 21st Century Preparatory School Charter Review Panel.

Richard says he is particularly pleased to have the opportunity to give back to the campus that gave him so much as an undergraduate.
