Snap-on Engineering Scholarship

Published: October 13, 2014

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Snap-on Incorporated are pleased to announce the Snap-on Incorporated Engineering Scholarship. This scholarship is the first in support of UW-Parkside's new engineering program with UW-Milwaukee, and will make it possible for talented students in southeastern Wisconsin to take advantage of this innovative 2+2 program model while preparing for engineering careers.

The Snap-on Incorporated Engineering Scholarship will provide up to five engineering students with $3,000 scholarships each year. UW-Parkside Chancellor Debbie Ford notes the importance of this support. "This is an investment in the quality of our faculty, the strength of our partnerships, the hopes and dreams of our students as well as the future of our region," Ford said. "As we launch the engineering program, Snap-on's scholarship support will make a great impact on students and will assist them in preparing for an in-demand career field."

To be eligible for the Snap-on Incorporated Engineering Scholarship, students must be admitted to UW-Parkside as an intended or declared engineering major and must attend full time (12 or more credits per semester). New students must have an ACT mathematics subscore of 28 or higher and must enroll in Math 221 (Calculus I) in their first semester. Continuing or transfer students must complete Math 221 (Calculus I) or higher with a grade of B or higher and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Scholarships are renewable for one additional year, provided the student remains enrolled full time in the engineering program at UW-Parkside and continues to meet program requirements. Scholarship application information for 2015-16 will be available in the coming months. Learn more about UW-Parkside's engineering program.
