UW-Parkside Names Luis Benevoglienti Student Employee Supervisor of the Year

Luis Benevoglienti- UW-Parkside Supervisor of the Year 2025The University of Wisconsin-Parkside has named Luis Benevoglienti as the recipient of the 2025 Supervisor of the Year Award. The award recognizes outstanding campus employment supervisors who have demonstrated a significant commitment to campus employment as a high-impact practice for students.

Benevoglienti is the Associate Director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) at UW-Parkside. He earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.), in Business Management with a concentration in Management Information Systems from UW-Parkside in 2003. He went on to earn his Master of Education (M. Ed.) in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2006 from Iowa State University. Benevoglienti is pursuing an Ed. D. in Student Affairs Administration and Leadership from UW-La Crosse.

Benevoglienti exhibits exceptional implementation of campus employment as a high-impact practice, including guiding students in critical reflection and providing professional development opportunities for them. He actively engages with students by implementing goal-setting and providing feedback. Benevoglienti creates a supportive environment for student employees that facilitates personal and professional growth. His mentorship and commitment to serving as a co-educator make him a highly deserving recipient of the Supervisor of the Year Award.

In addition to leading Multicultural Student Services for the university, he is also a vital proponent of Student Advocacy on campus. Benevoglienti’s duties on campus include the OMSA Excellence Scholarship, the Multicultural Professional Dialogues Series, Rangers of Excellence, MOSAIC, and much more. 

Luis’ nominators commented on his mentorship and vital role in career development for student employees. “Luis has been a pivotal mentor in shaping my future career in Higher Education. His guidance, support, and encouragement have provided me with invaluable opportunities for growth, both professionally and personally. I am truly grateful for his mentorship and the lasting influence he has had on my journey,” a student nominator said.

Another nominator adds, “Luis fosters a work environment that is not only productive but also positive. He is courteous and his willingness to assist others makes everyone feel valued and respected.”
